Produção de carvão ativado como solução ambiental para o lodo industrial oriundo de uma indústria de papel e celulose

Abstract

In the current world scenario, industrial waste has been shown to be a major problem, since it can cause a high environmental degradation, in the case of improper disposal, or through the overload of landfills, aggravating the scenario of solid waste disposal. Taking into account the pulp and paper industry residues, the sludge proves to be a great challenge, this fiber-rich residue from the paper formation process does not have many alternatives other than disposal in industrial landfills. Thus, the present study aimed to analyze and present the feasibility of transforming this waste into a by-product, activated carbon, its environmental impacts and financial viability, taking into account a medium to large factory, and hopes to find a valid reuse solution for this residue in its transformation into activated carbon.
