Resumo
This Research intends to In the first instance, this project aims to present a brief Brazil’s historical before the “discovery”, trying to comprehend how was life in here before the portugueses and europeans’ arrival, basing the research mainly on the book “O que você precisa saber sobre os povos indígenas no Brasil de hoje – Sete vias dos saberes”. Once it’s done, it will be discussed the concept of ethnocentrism, monoculture and the distribution of european’s, or rather colonizer’s, knowledge all over Brazil. It’s extremely important this historical contextualization, even though brief, for our better understanding of the 5th topic, which will be addressing the debate about the education status in Brazil and in Latin America (bearing in mind that we are also latin americans), so that we can be able to debate and comprehend issues such as standardization of teaching materials, teachers rebellions against the precarious conditions of schooling, among other subjects. It will also be introduced on this topic, a humble history about the education in Brazil and in Latin America, focusing on social movements such as teachers and students’ since Industrial Revolution (XVIII-XIV). Back in the present time, it will be addressed the discussion around the inclusion of indigenous people in the public education system. The latter being the last topic before final considerations, I’ll be trying to catalogue the indigenous/educational current politics and laws in Brazil, reinforcing the movements which brought us here, so that we can glimpse - even though deeply surrounded by uncertainty- some path to follow, as current and future committed educators.
