Resumo

Corporate environmental responsibility has become increasingly relevant due to growing public awareness and stricter environmental regulations. In this context, the Procurement area plays a fundamental role in supplier selection and the adoption of sustainable criteria within companies. This study aims to identify the main challenges faced by this area in implementing sustainable practices and to analyze the strategies adopted to promote sustainability in the supply chain. Additionally, the research evaluates the impact of sustainable actions in terms of environmental and social benefits. A case study was conducted in a company from the food and beverage sector, serving as a practical example, where sustainability indicators such as CO₂ emissions, energy efficiency, and actions across the supply chain were compared. Through the company's sustainability report, an interview with a manager, and the development of a SWOT Matrix, it was possible to identify that the company demonstrates a high level of maturity regarding sustainability and aligns with what is proposed in the literature, which highlights the Procurement area’s ability to significantly influence supply chain sustainability.
