Book censorship is an action that happens during centuries and can be understood as a way that a dominant group can exercise its power at the same time it attacks another group, usually a minority. We hope that during the development of this monograph we can understand how the scientific literature of Information Science writes about censorship and what informational professionals, such as librarians, are doing to combat censorship, at the end of our research we hope to be able to develop a "anti-censorship" guide for librarians. Even though book censorship is against the Universal Declaration of Human Rights or the Brazilian Constitution, we still were able to compile on this work recent cases of attempts to ban books from the public, and using the scientific literature as a support we will write about how the information professional can deal with such issues. In the recent cases that we listed we were able to notice how the book censorship were giving space to hate speech and dangerous acts against minorities, we also identified that the groups that were asking for books to be banned or censored were using a speech based on the "christian morality" and "good costumes". The main objective is to understand how informational narratives about this period were shaped and disseminated within this area. The research explores the complexity of memory and the right to be forgotten, with an emphasis on the implications of the 1979 Amnesty Law, which prevented the punishment of those responsible for crimes committed during the military regime. This legislation is seen as an obstacle to the process of justice and truth, hindering the Brazilian society's reconciliation with its authoritarian past. The analysis reflects on how this legislation impacted the construction of historical narratives and the preservation of the memory of events that occurred during the Dictatorship. With a quantitative-qualitative and applied approach, and exploratory objectives, the study's methodology involves a systematic mapping of the literature available in the BRAPCI database, using a specific keyword to ensure comprehensive coverage of scientific studies on the topic. Content Analysis is used to interpret the different ways in which the memory of the Dictatorship is approached in scientific texts, allowing a deeper understanding of the narratives constructed over the years. The study also discusses the polarization of memories of the Military Dictatorship in Brazilian society, addressing the different interpretations and feelings influenced by conflicting memories. The concept of the right to be forgotten is examined in the context of the Amnesty Law, which allowed non-accountability of state agents and regime opponents for crimes committed. This issue is analyzed from the perspective of forced forgetting, which contributed to the perpetuation of a dominant narrative that prevents the full revelation of truth and justice for the victims. The research contributes to a deeper understanding of how the Military Dictatorship is portrayed in Information Science, offering new perspectives on the construction and circulation of informational narratives. The research was conducted in three methodological stages: analysis of course syllabi related to Phanerogam Biology in public universities in the State of São Paulo; selection of illustrations and photographs representing floral morphology and formulation of definitions of reproductive organs; and application of a questionnaire to students and graduates to assess the relationship and preference between illustrations and photographs. After data collection, a numerical analysis was conducted on the efficiency of representation methods for Angiosperm Organography. The results indicate a preference for illustrations over photographs, although there is no consensus regarding the specific type of illustration. The choice of images may be influenced by the scarcity of photographs with captions and explanatory diagrams in textbooks. The use of captions, colors, and diagrams is valued to facilitate understanding, while photographs remain essential for representing reality, despite being less frequently chosen. The research suggests that visual literacy in higher education is underdeveloped and that objective criteria for image selection are still limited. The study was carried out through mathematical modeling, using the Malthusian model, in spreadsheet software. The functions that represent the growth of dengue cases were obtained as solutions of Ordinary Differential Equations. In view of this, a brief study was carried out on Differential Equations, with emphasis on first-order ones. The modeling used was based on the mathematical model of Thomas Robert Malthus, the Malthusian model, applied to the problem of dengue fever. In addition, a brief report on dengue fever was presented, addressing its discovery in Brazil, transmission, symptoms, diagnosis, prevention and treatment. The National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) was also explored, focusing on the five specific competencies of Mathematics and its Technologies for High School, as well as associated skills. In the case of gonorrehea, non linear differential equations are introduced to describe the dynamics between susceptible an infected individuals in a population. We analyze the stability of equilibrium points and conditions leading to extinction or endemic persistence. Subsequentely we address Covid-19 using data analyze from São Carlos - SP. Instead of employing a classical compartimental moldel, we resortto a logistic curve to describe the ccumulated number of cases, discussing how this type of fit can represent the temporal avolution in a relatively simple manner. The issue addressed in this study stems from the lack of projects directly related to accessible educational guided tours in Botanical Gardens with environmental information that enable the participation and understanding of the themes by the diverse population of deaf individuals, considering the various forms of comprehension and communication. The primary objective of this research was to create and organize an accessible guided tour script for deaf individuals at the Botanical Garden of Americana, containing specific information about trees through environmental education. The methodology adopted included a bibliographic review and discussions with key authors in the chosen fields, data collection regarding accessibility in botanical gardens, and identifying inclusive needs. An accessible script was created for deaf individuals for a guided tour in the Botanical Garden, aiming to address biodiversity and trees through the use of educational materials such as: five tree identification signs with their names and images, signs in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), and QR Codes linking to videos in Libras with captions; a memory game in Libras about trees; a biodiversity suitcase containing natural elements of trees for tactile interaction; an explanatory folder with information on tree characteristics, images, and a QR code for a Libras video; and explanatory Libras videos available on YouTube. As a result, it was possible to expand the discussion on the topic of environmental education in non-formal spaces with accessibility for deaf individuals, which is recent and innovative. The Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) is normally used to estimate soil loss and to analyze the main factors that contribute to this process. Currently, the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), combined with geotechnologies, occurs in several analyses, mainly in environmental monitoring. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the erosive processes in an area with regenerating vegetation to better understand the relevant factors in the erosive process, as well as the importance of vegetation in the recovery of eroded areas, applying the USLE and using photogrammetric products obtained with UAV. Using several data sources, a 62-year temporal analysis was performed with the application of the USLE in the study area, in addition to performing the volumetric analysis of the area affected by erosion using UAV byproducts. As a result, it was observed that the factors of land use and cover, as well as rainfall erodibility, influence the dynamics of erosion the most. Regarding the applied methods, the volume of soil loss obtained by EUPS was higher than the volumetric calculation, especially in areas of vegetation regeneration. Any failure in this stage of part production generates failures in the process chain that will lead to future product non-conformity and, consequently, financial loss to the industry. To ensure its efficiency, one of the parameters to be monitored and controlled is the quality of the cutting tools (inserts). Calculations of tool life, analysis of its cutting capacity, as well as forms and intensities of wear must be performed to have better control of the production process. In view of this, the objective of the research was to elucidate the machining process in its types of machining, parameters and theoretical formulations; to analyze cutting and chip formation specifically in turning; as well as the types of insert, their functions in the process and the wear they may suffer. The study was also carried out on the causes generating each wear and its consequences. To validate the theoretical results obtained, thermal and structural simulations were performed using the Finite Element Method (FEM) of the inserts for comparison with the literature, using machining conditions used on a lathe to manufacture an input shaft for truck and bus transmissions. They have the right to receive all the educational support necessary for their learning to be effective. Based on this, the objective of this study was to analyze the strategies, teaching resources used and services offered to students with low vision enrolled in the final years of elementary school, from the perspective of the students themselves, their Special Education teachers and regular classroom teachers. This is a descriptive study, in which data collection took place through semi-structured interviews. The data obtained were transcribed and subjected to content analysis, interpreted and organized into categories according to the participants' statements. Information was obtained from students with visual impairment and their regular classroom and special education teachers about the strategies and resources used, such as delivery of expanded activities, adaptation of activities, development of mind maps, use of cell phones to take photos of the board and enlarge them, use of notebooks with enlarged and darker lines, numbering of lines for better location during writing and also what services are offered to students with visual impairment in public schools. In this sense, a theoretical basis was developed to understand important concepts in the area, highlighting the power of the culture industry in the context of geopolitics, from a geographical point of view, integrating these elements and seeking to understand this phenomenon. Thus, films that represented the culture industry in its molds were selected, the films nominated in the “Best Picture” category of the 2024 Oscar awards. After selection, the films were analyzed and divided into thematic categories, which indicate the main subjects addressed in the works, seeking to understand the role of cinema in today's world, which generates influence in international relations driven by globalization. Of course, they cannot hide or run away, but they are not easy prey. Plants have a surveillance system, capable of perceiving damage to a leaf or stem and initiating a signaling cascade, which culminates in the induction of defense proteins. These “invisible” defenses are only activated when damage occurs by a herbivore, and represent a resource saving for the plant. There are also “visible” defenses: thorns, trichomes, and thicker cuticle, which are already present on the plant. This monograph seeks to summarize the bibliography on plant responses to insect attacks. A bibliographic survey was conducted using the Google Scholar tool, using keywords that encompass the topic, and giving priority to articles from the year 2000 to 2025. The objective was to create a general overview of how plants respond to insect attacks and how these strategies can be incorporated into integrated pest management. The literature review can be used by lay people who want to know more about the subject and also by people who work in rural production, in an attempt to demystify the idea that plants are beings incapable of defending themselves. Currently, there is an increase in the population of insects resistant to the insecticides most commonly used in agribusiness, and the use of agrochemicals can lead to an increased risk of contamination to the environment and to the people who handle them. Of a qualitative nature, with a bibliographic and narrative approach, the research includes the narrative of two experiences lived by the author as a student of the Pedagogy course, when visiting the exhibition MAHKU Mirações (from the Huni Kuin Artists Movement), at the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP), and the Gallery/Studio of the Sorocabano artist Ernesto Ferro. In this context, the aim of this dissertation is to study the solution of first-order ordinary differential equations (ODEs) involving exponential functions and to relate the teaching of this concept to high school students. To achieve this, the study is based on the dating method using the radioactive decay of carbon-14, where the solution of the ODE plays a key role. Thus, the research explores the history and definition of the atom, atomic models, and the applications and consequences of radioactivity, culminating in the dating of a human fossil discovered over 30 years ago, known as “Ötzi, the Iceman.” From this foundation, a teaching proposal is developed, applying the exponential function to an interdisciplinary project inspired by the case of “Ötzi”. Each discipline involved in the project will explore a line of interest. In mathematics, an experimental activity is proposed to illustrate the probabilistic nature of atomic decay, along with the construction of a graph of the related exponential function. Additionally, a problem-solving activity is included to determine the age of the fossil and the amount of carbon-14 present at the time of its dating using an exponential function. Therefore, implementing automated tests is the best option in terms of efficiency, reducing project costs and improving productivity. Given the widespread use of the React.js framework, a JavaScript library for building user interfaces, it is important to obtain evidence on how these applications include automated tests. Therefore, this study focuses on exploring test automation resources in web applications that use React.js for Front-End development. To this end, the React.js library and the test automation tools it uses were studied. First, 20 open source React.js projects that implement automated tests were selected for analysis according to the established criteria. Then, the projects were cloned from GitHub and the tests were run. A table was also constructed that collects the following data: number of stars per commit, date of the last commit, test frameworks, programming language, number of tests, test LoC, production LoC, test structure, and coverage report number of stars. Based on this data obtained, the defined research questions were answered. Finally, the results indicate that among the test frameworks, React Testing Library and Jest stand out. The most used programming language was JavaScript, and the test LoC in relation to the production LoC and the number of tests in relation to the production LoC were also discussed. Therefore, one should try to satisfy the basic needs of animals in the best possible way, adopting alternatives to improve their well-being. In this study, the objective was to evaluate the effect of environmental enrichment on the reduction of stereotyped behaviors in a tayra (Eira barbara) kept under human care at the Quinzinho de Barros Municipal Zoological Park, in Sorocaba - SP. The study was divided into three stages (pre-enrichment, enrichment and post-enrichment), lasting 21 hours each, totaling 63 hours. The observations were made using a pre-defined behavioral ethogram and the sampling used was the "Focal Animal", with 3-hour sessions recorded every 30 seconds. Demand forecasting becomes an essential tool to optimize resources, reduce operational costs, and ensure product availability, minimizing losses and improving the consumer experience. Furthermore, in a market where customer preferences change rapidly and seasonal factors directly influence sales, accurately forecasting demand allows companies to anticipate market fluctuations and adjust their operations quickly and efficiently. This paper presents a comparative analysis of demand forecasting models applied to multiple retail databases, considering different levels of granularity, such as total sales, by store, and by product. Four widely adopted quantitative algorithms were used: ARIMA, Prophet, LSTM, and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), evaluating their predictive performance on recognized databases, such as Favorita, M5, and Olist. Evaluation metrics considered include RMSE and MAPE, in addition to training and prediction time. The results highlighted the superiority of the LSTM model, which obtained an average RMSE 7\% better than the second best model. In the M5 database, LSTM stood out with an average RMSE of 1013, approximately 43\% better than ARIMA, which was the second best model in most general metrics. CNNs showed better performance in the Olist database, while Prophet showed limitations in capturing patterns in more complex time series. In this context, photodynamic inactivation (PDI) emerges as a promising technique due to its high microbial elimination capacity. This study aimed to evaluate PDI protocols for inactivating bacteria of the Streptococcus genus mediated by curcumin (CUR), as well as to investigate the effects of combining it with different antibiotics (ATBs), and to assess the technique’s ability to alter bacterial susceptibility to ATBs. The effect of PDI on both sensitive and resistant strains was analyzed using different CUR concentrations. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was determined for amoxicillin (AMO), ceftriaxone (CEF), and erythromycin (ERI). A time-kill curve was performed with these three ATBs, followed by the subsequent application of PDI after 3h, 6h, 9h, and 12h of incubation with the ATBs, at different CUR concentrations. Finally, consecutive cycles of PDI were applied to the bacteria to identify changes in MIC values. The results showed that CUR-mediated PDI is an effective technique against Streptococcus, capable of eliminating even resistant strains. Subsequent application of PDI after incubation with ATBs enhanced the antimicrobial effect of AMO and CEF against S. pneumoniae after 9 hours of incubation, increasing the antimicrobial activity by up to 2.8 log CFU/mL relative to CEF alone. Consecutive application of PDI reduced the MIC of AMO by half for S. pneumoniae and by a factor of 128 for S. pyogenes. The act of teaching is complex and depends on the context each teacher is in, and it is influenced by historical aspects, work conditions, school culture, teachers' attitudes, besides physical and emotional factors. The teachers' performances are divided into three pedagogical segments: pedagogical disinvestment, traditional practice and innovative practice. These segments have impacted how students, managers and teachers perceive Physical Education and its relevance in the educative process. The pedagogical disinvestment has increased in schools considerably, and it has been a synonym to teachers' abandonment, "rola bola” (to pass the ball) and “largobol" (the act of letting the students play ball unsupervised). This practice allows the student to choose what activities they want to participate in during the class, while other students who don’t want to participate can choose another activity. In this context, the teacher acts simply like a conflict and supplies manager. This research has as its main objective to analyze views of the Physical Education teachers on pedagogical (dis)investment and the ongoing teachers training about schools’ Physical Education. Methodologically, this research is classified as participative and in a qualitative approach. Relating to the target and cross-section audience, it has been supported by the collaboration of 56 Physical Education active teachers in the São Paulo city educational network that minister classes of that subject in the elementary school. Their collaborations have consisted in answering a questionnaire and two of them have participated in a collective interview. Content analysis was used to handle the data, applied to evaluate the answers and topics that approach the research’s central theme. Relating the concepts and the analysis, it has been understood that the ongoing teachers training linked to the career progress, the paid time off, that promote the communication and active listening, decreasing the gap between the University and the schools, can expand the practical and theoretical knowledge and encourage the innovative practice. Pedagogical disinvestment compromises the quality of education, and it affects the learning process, the curriculum legitimacy, the subject appreciation and the students' interest negatively. All this results in inequality and exclusion, impacts the whole formation and contributes to the negative and uncompromising view of Physical Education by society. The problem that guides the development of this work is based on the following question: Can the creative process of comic aimed at scientific dissemination configure a space for the construction of knowledge for teacher training in biological sciences? The importance of investigating this question is given in the perspective of seeking other ways of constructing knowledge based on postures that provide a less simplistic and fragmented vision, aiming at a teaching that encompasses a grouping of other knowledge and other scenarios, incorporates different areas of knowledge, the multidimensionality that consists of reality and individuals, considering other forms of expression of scientific knowledge, in this case, an artistic and communicational language. The research aims to investigate scientific and artistic knowledge mobilized in the creative process of comic aimed at scientific dissemination and that results in knowledge necessary for teacher training in biological sciences. To meet this objective, the study was structured from a qualitative perspective and used the creation of comics, documents from the creative process (drafts, outlines, scripts, final product) and interviews as data collection instruments. The comics were analyzed using Peircean semiotics, and the analysis of the creative processes (interviews and documents) was carried out using the Morphological Approach of the Creative Movement. The theoretical basis for the theme of knowledge construction was based on Complex Thinking, with its development in Transdisciplinarity, supported by Edgar Morin's studies on Complexity; Semiotics was used to support the analysis of the comics, and the Creative Movement Approach developed by Cecília Salles (1998) was used to analyze the documents. The results achieved with the data production suggest that the undergraduate students mobilized knowledge about art and biological sciences, considering the following points: (a) tension caused by human actions that generated disastrous consequences for animals and nature; (b) use of metaphorical constructions based on biological codes to provide information about the human organism, especially the immune system, and how it has a biological ecosystem inhabited by living beings; (c) learning about digital technologies for drawing, coloring and their handling to assist in the creation of comics; It was also found that the artistic strategies used in creation are not pre-chosen and defined by the author/creator, but are generally discovered throughout the creation process. It can be considered that the mobilization of both scientific and artistic knowledge is related to the manifestation of the complex relationships that exist in humans, from human to human, from human to the environment, and of the environment itself; Human beings and nature are connected in a tangle of relationships. Describing the seed bank in areas undergoing restoration can indicate the success of the interventions carried out and the recovery of native vegetation over time. The aim of this study was to describe the species composition and density of the soil seed bank in a riparian area restored after 11 years and to compare it with a riparian forest remnant. The taxonomic composition of the seed bank of the areas distributed in 10 plots of the restoration and 1 of the forest remnant were evaluated. In addition to describing the families and species found, the data was evaluated by Non-Metric Multidimensional Scaling (nMDS) analysis based on the number of individuals per species between the seed bank plots in the restoration area. The results show that, after 11 years of restoration, the riparian area studied still shows variations in the species composition of the seed bank compared to the forest remnant. The presence of native tree species such as Pau-pólvora (Trema micranthum (L.) Blume), Pitanga (Eugenia uniflora L.), Sangra d'água (Croton urucurana Baill. ), suggest a positive influence from the surrounding vegetation, while the occurrence of exotic species, such as Flamboyant (Delonix regia (Bojer ex Hook) Raf.), warns of the need for continuous monitoring and appropriate management to ensure the effectiveness of the restoration and the conservation of native biodiversity.
