dc.description.abstract	This research seeks to analyze the effects that transphobia frequently reproduced in schools can have on the mental health of trans people. The school proves to be a very determinant space in the mental health and well-being of students, since it is a place where students spend a great deal of time. Discourse analysis based on 5 interviews, two of them with trans women and three with trans men, showed that the school can at times position itself as a protective space, with measures aimed at reducing injuries to the physical and mental health of trans people, becoming a welcoming and transforming environment in relation to the prevailing hegemonic pattern that is reproduced in intrafamily and social relationships. However, in the narratives, the reproduction by schools of transphobia predominated in their daily lives, showing the harmful effect of prejudice and discrimination, negatively influencing the mental health of trans people and making it difficult for them to stay in schools.	por

dc.description.resumo	A presente pesquisa busca analisar os efeitos que a transfobia - frequentemente reproduzida nas escolas - pode ter na saúde mental de pessoas trans. A escola se mostra um espaço muito determinante na saúde mental e bem-estar dos estudantes, uma vez que é um local onde os alunos/as passam grande parte do tempo. A análise de discurso a partir de 5 entrevistas, sendo duas delas com mulheres trans e três com homens trans, mostrou que a escola pode em alguns momentos se posicionar como espaço protetivo, com medidas que visam a redução das injúrias à saúde física e mental das pessoas trans, tornando-se um ambiente acolhedor e transformador em relação ao padrão vigente hegemônico que se reproduz nas relações intrafamiliares e sociais. Predominou, porém, nas narrativas, a reprodução pelas escolas da transfobia em seu cotidiano, evidenciando o efeito nocivo do preconceito e discriminação, influenciando negativamente na saúde mental das pessoas trans e dificultando sua permanência nas escolas.	por
