This work aimed to analyze how the curricula of undergraduate courses in Chemistry, Physics and Biological Sciences, offered by federal universities in Northern Region of Brazil, incorporate the principles of inclusive education. The search adopted a qualitative approach, based on document analysis institutions related to the curricular organization of the courses. The main ones results show that, although all institutions comply with the mandatory of the Libras discipline, only two universities present proposals curriculum with specific components aimed at inclusion, such as: Fundamentals of Special and Inclusive Education, Inclusive Education and Instrumentation Practices for Teaching Chemistry in Special Education. It was also identified the absence of a critical and contextualized approach that considers the particularities sociocultural aspects of the region, as well as a weakness in the articulation between theory and practice. It was concluded that there is an urgent need for curricular review in courses analyzed, in order to promote teacher training more aligned with the demands inclusive education and the principles of equity.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Contribuição das linguagens artísticas para os processos de alfabetização de crianças dos 1º e 2º anos do Ensino Fundamental – Anos Iniciais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Batista, Daniele Cristina de Souza; Lombardi, Lucia Maria Salgado dos Santos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5697508831302188; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6978-864X; https://orcid.org/0009-0003-9349-7270This qualitative, bibliographical study aims to understand the contributions of artistic languages to the literacy process of children in the first and second grades of elementary school, as well as to analyze how the arts can promote the development of reading, writing, and critical thinking, expanding learning opportunities and the construction of knowledge. Studies reveal that the arts are fundamental to the development of children's expression and thought, especially in the early years of elementary school. Including art and its multiple languages in teaching processes contributes significantly to more engaging and complex learning by stimulating creativity, the possibilities of personal expression, and fostering critical thinking regarding lived experiences. This work connects with authors such as Malheiros (2011), who sees bibliographic research as an essential way to engage with existing knowledge and thus deepen understanding. The relevance of art in literacy is strongly highlighted by Ana Mae Barbosa (2010), an important voice in Art/Education in Brazil, as she highlights that art is vital to human development.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Simulação clínica em ressuscitação cardiopulmonar para profissionais da saúde indígena(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Corrêa, Ricardo Luis; Girão, Fernanda Berchelli; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9999840170649511; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7229-0519; https://lattes.cnpq.br/1405163932552035; https://orcid.org/0009-0000-2774-2774; Bernardes, Rodrigo Magri; Almeida, Rodrigo Guimarães dos Santos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4289430080203023; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2792250086773994; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6232-704X; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-4984-3928Objective: to identify the effects of an educational activity on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in terms of knowledge, performance, and self-confidence among healthcare professionals working in indigenous regions. Method: cross-sectional and quasi-experimental study of the before and after type in a single group, developed at the Federal University of Pará – Altamira Campus and in the Miratu indigenous village, with a sample composed of 29 health professionals working in the care of the indigenous population. Data collection was carried out in February 2025, after the research was approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee. Theoretical training, skills training, and simulated training were carried out using Clinical Simulation to teach Basic Life Support and the use of the Automated External Defibrillator. Knowledge was assessed before and after training using an instrument constructed with theoretical concepts on the subject, technical performance was assessed before and after the activity using an instrument to assess Basic Life Support behaviors and procedures and the use of the Automated External Defibrillator, and self-confidence was assessed before and after training using the Self-Confidence Scale. Descriptive analyses were performed for each item, statistical analyses of the difference in scores, with a significance value of p less than 0.05 (5%), evaluated using graphs and the Shapiro-Wilk, Wilcoxon, and Student's t-tests. and Quasi-Poisson regression was used to analyze the association between the participants' biographical and professional characteristics and their scores for knowledge, self-confidence, and performance. Results: there was a predominance of women (83%) and the age concentrated in the 35 to 44 age group (41%), the majority self-declared themselves as non-indigenous (83%), and there was a predominance of nursing technicians (59%) and nurses (34%). Statistical analysis between the moments before and after the intervention (p<0.001) suggested a positive impact of the theoretical activity, skills training, and simulation scenario on the participants' knowledge acquisition. The participants' performance improved significantly with a positive impact (p<0.01). There was a significant increase in self-confidence levels after the activity (p <0.01). Regarding the association of biographical and professional characteristics with participants' knowledge and self-confidence before and after the activities, the results showed that most of the variables analyzed did not present a statistically significant association with the outcome. For association with knowledge in the pre- and post-theoretical activity period, skills training, and simulation scenario, in general, no variable showed a statistically significant association. No variable had a statistically significant association with performance gain. As in the post-test model, there was a tendency for greater knowledge gain among indigenous participants, although without statistical significance. Conclusion: a statistically significant difference was identified in knowledge acquisition, there was a consistent improvement in participants' performance and a significant increase in self-confidence levels after the activity, suggesting that participants felt better prepared for a real-life experience of responding to a cardiac arrest and using an automated external defibrillator.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Estratégias tradutórias para a produção de narrativas literárias em Libras no contexto religioso(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Arton, Nadini Heloisi dos Santos; Martins, Vanessa Regina de Oliveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4768682330164550; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3170-293X; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7191702557694540This Undergraduate Thesis (TCC), linked to the Bachelor's Degree in Translation and Interpretation in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) and Portuguese (TILSP), aimed to describe the narrative-translational strategies in Libras employed in the construction of a signed narrative based on the biblical text Daniel and the Miracle in the Lions’ Den, directed at deaf children inserted in Protestant religious contexts. The research is justified by the scarcity of materials aimed at Christian religious education for deaf children and, more broadly, by the lack of Libras productions with refined verbal and non-verbal discourse appropriate for young audiences. With a theoretical-practical approach, the study involved a bibliographical review of the discursive production of audiovisual materials in Libras for deaf children, with an emphasis on narrative translation and language use in religious settings. Based on the mapping of existing materials and research, five thematic axes were defined — Translational, Visual and Imagetic, Expressive and Bodily, Sociolinguistic, and Pedagogical-Cultural — which guided the elaboration of the signed version of the biblical narrative, respecting the linguistic, cultural, and visual specificities of the target audience, taking into account aspects of deaf childhood. The qualitative and descriptive-interpretative analysis considered visual, expressive, and bodily elements that enhance reception by deaf children undergoing sociolinguistic development, including those with delayed language acquisition. The theoretical framework is grounded in Deaf Studies, especially the concepts of multimodal literacy, deferred textuality, and imagetic production. The results highlight the relevance of using translational strategies that integrate playful, expressive, and imagetic visual resources, thus expanding deaf children’s access to religious content and enriching the narrative experience in Libras. This research provides theoretical and practical contributions for the training of Libras translators and interpreters who work with children in religious contexts, contributing to the strengthening of culturally sensitive productions that better meet the specific demands of this group. The material produced was published by the #CasaLibras program and is expected to inspire new creations and investigations in this still underexplored field.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise das produções literárias em Libras para crianças surdas: criação e repercussões dos materiais do #CasaLibras(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Messias, Maria Emilia das Graças; Martins, Vanessa Regina de Oliveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4768682330164550; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3170-293X; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8233207831750964This article presents the results of a research project developed as an Undergraduate Thesis in the Bachelor's Degree in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) and Portuguese Translation and Interpretation (TILSP) at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). The main objective of the study was to analyze the audiovisual productions of the #CasaLibras extension program, focusing on the identification of the most recurrent literary genres, the participation of the deaf community, and the main features of this digital repository aimed at deaf children and adolescents. The theoretical framework is grounded in Deaf Studies and the concept of deferred textuality, articulating discursive, visual, and linguistic aspects of Libras productions. The methodology involved a documentary analysis of 60 videos published on the project's YouTube channel, based on criteria such as literary genre, narrator profile, linguistic diversity, use of visual and audiovisual resources, and engagement data (views and interactions). To deepen the analysis, three videos with the highest number of views were selected and examined according to two analytical axes proposed by Martins (2024a; 2024b) through the Pedagogical Instrument for the Assessment of Libras Production – IPAS_Libras: (1) discursive-literary axis and (2) technical-linguistic axis. The results highlight the diversity of genres found in the productions — such as short stories, fables, jokes, and songs — and underscore the relevance of these media resources in the process of literary literacy in Libras, both for deaf children and for students in training in the field of translation and interpretation. The study concludes that the #CasaLibras repository constitutes an important didactic-pedagogical tool, offering accessible, aesthetically qualified, and culturally meaningful materials. It is expected that this research will contribute to improving the training of Libras translators and interpreters, encouraging translation practices committed to the linguistic rights of deaf children and to the promotion of literature in Libras within educational contexts.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, As dificuldades do acesso à educação entre filhos de trabalhadores rurais no município de Lucianópolis(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Monteiro, Milena Gabrielle Aparecida; Mariano, Neusa de Fátima; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5003743301847104This research aims to analyze and understand the possible relationships between private land ownership and rural education, as well as to identify its impacts and problems on the way of life of the children of rural workers located in the municipality of Lucianópolis, in the interior of São Paulo. In this sense, we will seek to analyze the difficulties in completing basic education reported by families who live/lived as rural workers, especially as temporary workers, who migrate from one place to another in search of work. This mobility in search of work may be one of the factors that contribute to the difficulty of access to education, since class and work relations directly interfere in social aspects, defining the role and way of life of the individual in their different social productions and reproductions.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Modelos preditivos aplicados ao risco de incêndios no Cerrado: desempenho e importância de variáveis ambientais(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Yamamoto, Júlio; França, Celso Aparecido de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4547836128892982The recurrence of wildfires in the Brazilian Cerrado severely threatens the region’s fauna, flora, and overall biodiversity. Between 2001 and 2019, studies reported a decline in the photosynthetic activity of tree foliage in the area, attributed to the frequent occurrence of these fires. In this context, the present study aimed to assess the impact of environmental and meteorological variables on fire risk estimation. Three machine learning models with distinct approaches were applied (Random Forest, XGBoost, and MLPRegressor) to replicate the fire risk index provided by INPE, using a reduced set of five variables: air temperature, accumulated precipitation, number of consecutive dry days, relative humidity, and atmospheric smoke concentration. Over 600 daily files covering the period from August 2023 to May 2025 were analyzed. After training and evaluating the models using cross-validation and regression metrics, the Random Forest model achieved the best predictive performance, with a final coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.8166. Based on this model, further analyses were conducted, including permutation and correlationbased feature importance, residual diagnostics, sensitivity tests, and spatial comparisons of predictions. Three variables—relative humidity, number of dry days, and precipitation— accounted for approximately 90% of the model’s predictive power. The sensitivity analysis confirmed this influence, as increased dry days and reduced humidity and precipitation led to higher predicted fire risk. Residual analysis showed errors centered around zero, with low variability and no systematic bias, while monthly spatial maps demonstrated strong alignment between predicted and observed values. Despite promising results, the study has notable limitations: the reduced number of variables, the absence of data on vegetation cover, wind, atmospheric pressure, and gas concentrations. Moreover, the mismatch between the temporal resolution of fire risk data (daily) and burned area data (monthly) hinders precise correlation between predicted risk and actual impact. Future work should incorporate additional environmental variables and complementary datasets to enhance model robustness and generalizability.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Jogar um jogo! Brincar (talvez de uma brincadeira): conceitos e formação de professores(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Melo, Lucas Lannes Machado de; Lombardi, Lucia Maria Salgado dos Santos; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5697508831302188; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6978-864X; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0998405101895863; https://orcid.org/0009-0003-4027-5439Games and play are primitive cultural manifestations, but they are still little valued in Western societies. Several authors from European countries and the Americas strive to raise awareness about the importance of play. In Physical Education and Pedagogy courses, these phenomena are studied, sometimes as synonyms, sometimes as similar but distinct. By reviewing the basic or complementary bibliography of the disciplines that deal with games and play in these courses at the three largest universities in the State of São Paulo: USP, Unicamp and UFSCar, this text seeks to observe the theoretical concepts that are being disseminated. By researching more recent academic articles, it seeks to update the discussion and defend free play in schools, in relation to teacher training. Finally, it deliberates on linguistic differentiation, since the Portuguese language understands the two terms as distinct, while the original references were written in languages that do not have distinct terms for these phenomena.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Revisão sistemática da gamificação no Ensino de Física na sala de aula do estado de São Paulo(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Silva, Rodolpho Adão Dias da; Colato, Alexandre; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5460973924624757; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0076-007XThis study aims to conduct a systematic review of published materials on the use of gamification in physics teaching as an active learning methodology. Six studies were selected using descriptors defined in the Web of Science database for this review. This review presents a brief description of the concept of gamification, as well as an analysis of aspects such as the influence of this methodology on teacher-student communication and the feasibility of the adopted gamification strategies, considering the context of the state of São Paulo.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise do desempenho de diferentes vetorizadores e diferentes classificadores na identificação de espécies de anuros através do som(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Antonioli, Natanael Monteiro Pastore; Naldi, Murilo Coelho; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0573662728816861; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3107-8236; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2912555315740443Tail-less amphibians, known as anurans, are a diverse group that includes toads, frogs, and tree frogs, and when monitored, they serve as excellent indicators of ecosystem degradation and the presence of invasive species. This study determines the best combination in the form of a pair composed of a vectorization algorithm and a classification algorithm for the task of identifying anuran species through audio recordings. The main objective of the study is to termine accuracy, precision, and recall values for five vectorization algorithms combined with six classification algorithms. To this end, these algorithms were implemented in Python and iterated over every possible combination, with evaluation metrics calculated. The results show that short-time Fourier transform and mel-frequency cepstrum yield excellent results when combined with multilayer perceptron and random forest. It is concluded that there are several promising methods for identifying anurans through sound, and that these methods can be explored and selected according to the constraints and requirements of the research in which they are to be applied.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Desenvolvimento da Geometria através da história: propostas didáticas para o ensino básico(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Souza, Adriano Ortiz; Carvalho, Silvia Maria Simões de; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8244087426759161; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6804767238372469This paper traces the evolution of geometry, from its utilitarian roots in ancient civilizations like the Babylonians and Egyptians, who applied it to practical needs such as construction and land measurement. It highlights the paradigm shift brought by the Greeks, who introduced the rigor of logical demonstration, consolidated by Euclid, transforming mathematics into a deductive science. Finally, Spherical Geometry is explored as a crucial field for understanding our planet, explaining phenomena like flight paths and cartographic projections. Lessons on these topics in elementary and high school are presented as essential for developing spatial reasoning, intellectual curiosity, and problem-solving skills, preparing students for a deeper and more critical understanding of the world.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Características dos incidentes relacionados à assistência à saúde do recém-nascido no Brasil de 2014 A 2022(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Gomes, Livia Prado; Valete, Cristina Ortiz Sobrinho; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3246791895201559; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-6925-4346; https://lattes.cnpq.br/3008022340201131; https://orcid.org/0009-0008-1540-3116The objective of this article is to analyze healthcare incidents reported in newborns in Brazil from 2014 to 2022. Retrospective time series study, in the Notivisa database, from April 2014 to December 2022. The frequency and rate of reported incidents according to the number of live births per macro-region. The trend in the number of incidents was estimated using Prais-Winsten regression. A total of 39,373 incidents were reported, with the most frequent types being failures during healthcare, failures involving venous catheters, others, pressure injuries, and failures involving probes. The macro-region that reported the most was the Southeast, but, considering the number of live births, the central-west macro-region surpassed the others. About reports of AEs with serious damage, the most frequent were failures in healthcare, others, accidental endotracheal extubation, pressure injuries, and failures involving venous catheters. The most frequent AEs related to death were failures during healthcare, others, bronchoaspiration, and patient accidents. An increasing trend in the number of notifications over time was observed, which may be a result of the expansion of patient safety centers in the country. These results point out safety protocols that need to be strengthened.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Entre o teórico e o prático: uma reflexão sobre a profissão linguista na história e nas vozes de egressos da UFSCar(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Oliveira, Giovanna Costa de; Nogueira, Luciana; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7475342844385424; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4470-5005; https://lattes.cnpq.br/5084527011486694; https://orcid.org/0009-0007-7905-873XThis Final Project (TCC) investigates the complex professional identity of linguists in Brazil, based on the premise that linguistic knowledge is a social and historical construction, not a neutral given. Based on studies intertwined between the theoretical and methodological fields of Discourse Analysis (Pêcheux, 2010; Orlandi, 2007; Mariani, 2016) and the History of Linguistic Ideas (Auroux, 2001; Orlandi, 2001; Scherer, 2005; Ferreira, 2009; Dias, 2012), the work recognizes that the grammatization of languages and colonial and state contexts generated interventions that shaped the production of this knowledge in certain institutions. Based on this research on the history of Linguistics in Brazil and the production of meanings within the linguistics profession, this final project focuses on a study of graduates of the Bachelor's degree in Linguistics from UFSCar. The work represents a continuation and deepening of previous phases of scientific initiation research (PIBIC and FAPESP). The main objective is to analyze the meanings attributed to the linguistics profession by these recent graduates. To this end, a questionnaire with open-ended questions was used, allowing for the establishment of insights into the statements of these individuals, essential for understanding their positions. In terms of contribution, the results aim to enrich the understanding of the meanings of the linguistics profession in Brazil. Furthermore, they seek to open a space for reflection and discussion on the complex relationship between language, linguistics, profession, and training. In a broader context, the research aims to contribute to the production of an encyclopedia of professions in language sciences, which would serve as an archive of texts on professions in social and historical circulation, investing qualitatively in the training of young and future professionals capable of understanding the functioning of language in the processes of signification and the constitution of subjects in their relationships.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Avaliação do impacto de um incêndio de grandes proporções em um reservatório de água doce tropical (Represa do Lobo, Itirapina)(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Giongo, Daniel Guido; Sarmento, Hugo; https://lattes.cnpq.br/4515469289999439; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5220-7992Wildfires are becoming increasingly frequent and intense due to climate change. The effects of fires on terrestrial ecosystems and the atmosphere are well documented, including the emission of gases and ash, as well as increased soil exposure to the elements. However, the impacts on aquatic environments remain poorly understood. The objective of this research is to assess changes in limnological parameters and the dynamics of planktonic communities in a tropical freshwater reservoir (Represa do Lobo, Itirapina) following a large-scale wildfire that occurred in September 2021. Data collected the day after the fire and during the subsequent four weeks were compared with a time series of 29 monthly samples taken before the fire and 26 monthly samples taken afterward. The central hypothesis is that the ash and residues from the fire caused changes in the aquatic environment, modifying limnological parameters, increasing nutrient availability, and altering the structure and functioning of planktonic communities. The fire immediately affected all variables, with most of them returning to their original patterns, while only four variables showed instability in the following years (turbidity, euphotic zone, Synechococcus and cladocerans abundance). Additionally, it was observed that the studied environment was spatially affected in a homogeneous manner, with only six variables (phytoplankton biomass, dissolved oxygen concentration, total phosphorus, humic-like organic matter, Synechococcus and cladocerans abundance) differing between the margin and center of the reservoir. Thus, it is concluded that the fire directly affected limnological factors and, consequently, planktonic communities, although most variables showed high resilience over time.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Análise da percepção de estudantes universitários sobre o preconceito contra minorias sexuais e de gênero(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Campos, Vivian; Borges, Flávio Adriano; https://lattes.cnpq.br/2146448542549482; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5941-4855; https://lattes.cnpq.br/7834993279502208; https://orcid.org/0009-0005-2107-9963Lesbian, gay, bisexual, travesti, transgender, and other sexual and gender minority (LGBT+) individuals face prejudice on a daily basis due to not conforming to a hetero-cis-normative “standard.” Moreover, in the university context, they experience discrimination manifested in subtle, everyday attitudes that seek to reinforce and perpetuate socially established prejudice. Objective: To analyze university students’ perception of prejudice against sexual and gender minorities. Methodology: This is a qualitative research study, conducted with students from a public university in the interior of the state of São Paulo, through semi-structured interviews that were recorded, fully transcribed, and analyzed using the IRAMUTEQ software, through content analysis. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of São Carlos under opinion no. 5.954.087, CAAE no. 64624622.9.0000.5504. Results: Eleven interviews were conducted and grouped into four classes: (1) Support networks against prejudice, (2) Prejudice against LGBT+ people in the university context, (3) University spaces: safety and/or prejudice?, and (4) Daily life and coping with prejudice. Discussion: It was found that much of the prejudice is located in the teacher-student relationship. However, due to the unequal hierarchical relationship and the instability of students’ positions, they feel discouraged from reporting such occurrences, fearing retaliation. In addition, students who do not fit the cis-heteronormative “standard” also face another form of prejudice—more silent—mainly through looks. Reports of prejudice were also more frequent among students in Exact Sciences courses, in line with existing scientific findings on the subject (ALONSO-MARTÍNEZ, 2021; SANTOS, CERQUEIRA-SANTOS, 2022). Final Considerations: The results of this study enabled the identification and analysis of university students’ perception of prejudice against LGBT+ individuals, generating insights toward mitigating prejudice in the university context. This contributes to the development of university policies aimed at reducing this reality of violence, which leads to harm and illness among LGBT+ students.listelement.badge.dso-typeItem, Painéis de monitoramento da vida útil de baterias em sistemas ferroviários: uma análise com visualização IoT(Universidade Federal de São Carlos, 2025-07-21) Santos, Pâmela Jaqueline Ribeiro dos; Ogashawara, Osmar; https://lattes.cnpq.br/6948399946071056; Martins, Diego de Oliveira; https://lattes.cnpq.br/8472191837882521; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4462-3675; https://lattes.cnpq.br/9524241803582784Railway systems rely on the continuous operation of critical devices such as broken rail detectors (DTQ) and derailment detectors (DDC), which, in turn, use Freedom batteries to ensure their functionality. However, these batteries are subject to degradation over time, which can compromise safety, increase corrective maintenance costs, and negatively impact the environment due to the premature replacement of accumulators. Therefore, this Final Undergraduate Project (TCC) developed and analyzed a monitoring panel aimed at managing the service life of these batteries, with the goal of enhancing the reliability of the Brazilian railway system. The methodology involved collecting real-world field data integrated into an Internet of Things (IoT) visualization system using Grafana, enabling real-time monitoring of parameters such as voltage, current, and temperature. As a result, it was possible to identify critical trends, with special attention to the DDS board 1.45AA.24E3.8B29, which exhibited a critical voltage of 5.383 V, and to highlight increased risk during periods of low solar irradiation. This approach supported predictive maintenance strategies, extending battery lifespan and ensuring the proper functioning of detection systems, thereby positively impacting the economy, comfort, and safety of railway operations.
